SUMMARY

The Centre for Adaptive Wireless Systems (CAWS) covers three main research areas: adaptive wireless systems, smart systems integration, embedded applications. CAWS mission is to create highly adaptive, self-organising, multi-tiered and multi-system distributed wireless communication platforms with effective, real-world applications.

SOLUTIONS

  • Developing ICT for sustainable and optimised building operation
  • Designing a flexible, standards compliant based protocol stack, a flexible middleware layer and network management protocols for wireless sensor networks
  • Creating a WLAN-based system called UbiOne for contextual data mining with a focus on user terminal and WiFi RFID tag locating and tracking
  • Specifying, designing, and validating a data management technology platform that will support integrated energy & environmental management in buildings utilising a combination of wireless sensor network technologies, an integrated data model and data mining methods and technologies
