The FIRE community came together for the second FIRE Forum on 15 October, 2014 in the Commission offices in Brussels.

The focus of the second FIRE Forum 2014 was on research activities, experimenting and piloting initiatives on Internet of Things, accelerating 5G – How to cooperate for mutual benefits, 5G initiatives and pilots, new FIRE projects from H2020 2014 Call 1, FIRE road-mapping activities towards 2020 and future collaborations and experiences, discussions and next steps for engaging in international collaborations.

Regarding the latter point on international cooperation, the FIRE Forum was immediately followed by the 5th EU-Japan Symposium in the ICT Research and Innovation in the same premises on 16-17th October, resulting in shared participation with a large number of high level  researchers, industry and government representation from Japan attending to both events.
