SUMMARY
The project is aimed at developing segments of a Semantic Web information infrastructure and its deductive mechanisms. The Semantic Web represents a set of a broad array of distributed Web services ranging from structurally simplest ones, such as those for intelligent information search, to most complex ones, such as e-business services, which include intelligent autonomous agents as business entities, ontologies as the information basis (including business rules systems structured as ontologies) and deductive mechanisms that enable agent autonomy and intelligence as well as intelligent and purposeful behaviour of the system as a whole. In particular, within the project specific ontologies relevant for the Croatian academic community are investigated.
