SUMMARY
The purpose of this project is to address the challenges that the secure and reliable operation of the power grids will face in the future. This will be done by developing a solid, interdisciplinary theoretical foundation capable of supporting the development of better tools for planning, operation and control of power grids which are interconnected across traditional national boundaries and at various voltage levels. It is our vision that by advancing phasor measurement technology and applications in wide areas of monitoring and control, many of these challenges can be met.
