SUMMARY

Seven municipal utilities from all over Germany – Aachen Allgau, Duisburg, Leipzig, Osnabrück, Sylt, and Trier – have teamed up with “econnect Germany” to create a research network and compete successfully in the technology competition “ICT for Electric Mobility II” which is run by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.

The goal of “econnect Germany” is to develop sustainable and intelligent electro-mobile traffic applications integrate electric vehicles into the smart grid of the future.These technologies are studied, developed and tested by means of information and communication technology. Special consideration will be given by the project team to developing applications for public utility infrastructure.
