SUMMARY
Current telemedicine projects in social and health sciences only develop ad-hoc solutions to infrastructural challenges in the areas of, for example, connection, identification, secure communications, automatic switching between networks and data formats, and integration with electronic medical records.
This project aims to provide a basis for an open technical infrastructure to support the development of secure, scalable ICT-based social and health services. This infrastructure will build upon and complement existing infrastructures, particularly the Health Data Network, the National Service Platform, and the National Programme for telemedicine and home monitoring.
