SUMMARY
Distributed video coding (DVC) is a technology used to compress video codes. Appling the DVC approach to developing the architecture for visual sensor networks can provide significant benefits and efficiencies over and above existing architectures. This project will advance the state-of-the-art by developing competitive multi-view DVC solutions for visual sensor networks.

SOLUTIONS
- Fully exploiting the potential of the multi-view distributed video coding paradigm through producing techniques for the creation of high quality side information
- Combining predictive coding techniques – to exploit the temporal correlation – with distributed coding techniques – to exploit the Inter-view correlation – in order to obtain improved rate-distortion (RD) performance.
