SUMMARY
One of the biggest challenges facing green energy is its unpredictable, variable output which makes it difficult for an energy supplier to maintain the crucial balance between production and consumption in the network. In short, suppliers need an energy network infrastructure which offers a high degree of flexibility. The MonIEFlex project seeks to address this challenge by developing new software components to ensure that the variability in the energy consumption of large industrial consumers is dealt with effectively and automatically. This shifts the onus on flexibility from the supply side to the demand side.
MonIEFlex will define, design and assess new software components which can constitute a new digital architecture for large-scale industrial consumers, which is capable of adjusting the level of consumed power quickly and automatically.

SOLUTIONS
- Developing technical solutions for the definition of a digital architecture
- Creating services in which determine and managing flexibility
- Conducting socio-economic studies on the potential economic benefits of the technology output
- Applying, testing and validating the results in an operational environment.
- Determining the flexibility potential for a selection of industrial processes
- Showing how digital components and adaptive algorithms can determine where there is flexibility, and how to automatically (re)configure these industrial processes.
