SUMMARY
Web of Data is a research activity of the CNR’s Institue of Informatics and Telematics focusing on the areas of linked data and big data. Web of Data’s goal is to extend the Web with a data commons by publishing various open datasets such as RDF on the Web and by setting RDF links between data items from different data sources and to find solutions to the Big Data challenges such as the capture, storage, search, sharing, analysis, and visualization of heterogeneous information.

SOLUTIONS
- Building a common collaborative, information sharing platform for the detection and prevention of organised crime through exploiting Open Source Intelligence
- Developing a wiki Framework for cooperatively building multilingual language resources
- Providing industries in the tourism sector a range of technologies for the recognition, classification and sentiment analysis of entities of interest such as hotels, restaurants, pubs etc
