SUMMARY

Embedded computing operates imperceptibly in people’s and companies’ everyday working environments. Objects and machines communicate wirelessly between themselves and adjust their operations independently in real time.
The embedded computing sector is facing a steep development curve. Even now, 98% of the world’s microprocessors are in embedded systems. Digital homes are becoming more common and new embedded electronic systems are being increasingly employed in transport equipment, public infrastructure and factories. The increasing pervasiveness of embedded computing improves efficiency and safety and at the same time creates enhanced services for consumers.

The Ubicom – Embedded ICT project strengthens research into ubiquitous computing, increases the resources available for the industry’s commercial competitive offerings, enhances the international cooperation environment and spurs on cooperation between different branches of industry by creating new industry networks and industry standards.
