SUMMARY
The SZTAKI project’s aim is to investigate the utility of clouds as distributed computing systems and, subsequently, to develop and deploy a new cloud infrastructure based on the results of the initial research. The new cloud based infrastructure will be significantly more effective and more cost efficient than the former infrastructure built on traditional conceptions and individual specific servers.
Specifically, the developed infrastructure will allow researchers to use scalable clusters established in the cloud to solve processor-intensive issues and will also contain a feature which automatically reallocates resources to under-resourced systems and services.

SOLUTIONS
- Researching the possibilities entailed by the dynamic extension of the Hadoop framework for the distributed processing of large data sets across clusters of computers using simple programming models
- Investigating the dynamic resource extension of SZTAKI Dictionary
- Resolving the asynchronous scale-out of a word processing system for unstructured information
- Adapting the Hungarian Grid and Cloud User Support Environment to cloud and to make it scalable
