SUMMARY
The Internet of Things will allow the Transport and Logistics sector to more intelligently exploit its rich and complex data base leading to more efficient and effective use of the transport infrastructure.
The challenge is to create an environment where data providers have incentives to share data and application and service providers have access to it in a usable manner.
The Stride project, delivered by a consortium of world class partners, will create an IoT Cluster for Smart Transport, initially focused on the East of England. The project will focus on the creation of a Smart Transport ecosystem where all stakeholders share data so that innovations and synergies can be found at every level of service provision.

- Providing a critical mass of diverse transport data including historical and real-time data collected from sensors
- Acting as a focal point for the development of smart transport applications and business process improvements
- Determining the commercial conditions that must exist for such an ecosystem to thrive
