Coordinating European Future Internet Research

RFID in Society

_____________________________________________________________________

SUMMARY

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a central technological pillar of the Internet of Things, forming the backbone of wireless communication networks between Smart objects. The aim of the RFID in Society project is to evaluate the current use-value and further our knowledge of RFID technology.

Specifically, this project will develop and analytical framework and methodology by which the RFID-mediated interplay of people, products and environments can be assessed. This is a novel research direction, particularly in a Norwegian context, and will involve collaboration with four industry and research partners, giving the project multi-disciplinary edge.
