RAP: Networks, Algorithms and Probability

_____________________________________________________________________

SUMMARY

The general goal of the RAP project is to design, analyse and optimise algorithms for communication networks. The RAP research team also aims at developing new tools to investigate and develop probabilistic models of complex communication networks. This involves furthering available knowledge on stochastic modelling and processes and the development and use of technical tools such as scaling methods, large deviations and rare events.

SOLUTIONS

  • Optimising bandwidth allocation algorithms in optical networks
  • Designing algorithms for content centric networks
  • Developing scaling methods for Markov processes describing large-scale networks
  • Investigating fluid limits for functional limit theorems.
