SUMMARY
The goal of the OkoNet project is to find solutions to unpredictable problems and conflicts of interest between network and service providers. The project aims to find mechanisms which can resolve outstanding challenges iteratively through research conducted in two separate case studies.

SOLUTIONS
- Using primer orthogonal approaches such as “Economic Traffic Management” and “Design for Tussle”, to minimise costs for both network and service providers
- Developing appropriate routing mechanisms for so called Content Distribution Networks (CDNs)
- Designing energy efficient mechanisms for video-streaming in distributed overlay networks
- Evaluating the underlying paradigms behind existing and future mechanisms
