The Net-Safe Latvia Safer Internet Centre was created to educate the public in the safe use of the Internet. As the internet becomes ever more pervasive, it is necessary to ensure that its influence on peoples’ lives remains benign.

- Educating young people, teachers and parents in internet safety
- Creating awareness about internet risks such as discrimination, child pornography and paedophilia, cyberbullying, identity theft and misuse of data
- Establishing a free helpline and a public website for the reporting of irregularities and illegal content on the Internet
