The Multimedia and Wireless Communication Systems (MMWCS) Research Group was founded in 2009 to stimulate and promote research in the areas of multimedia and wireless communication systems and applications. The work covered by the group includes:

  • Energy Efficient Transmission and Routing in Wireless Sensor Networks
  • Resource Management and Congestion Control in Wireless Networks
  • Infrastractureless Peer-to-Peer Solutions
  • Indoor and Outdoor Radio Propagation Modeling
  • Network Modeling and Simulation

The Group is part of the faculty of engineering at the University of Malta.

SOLUTIONS

  • Applying an SOM neural network to increase the lifetime of battery-operated wireless sensor networks
  • Modelling of the wireless propagation characteristics inside aircraft
