SUMMARY
The Media Networks Laboratory is a part of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications, NCSR “Demokritos”. The lab conducts research at the leading edge of next-generation network media provision. The team is currently working in collaboration with other researchers on several projects:
- GERYON: providing a unified answer to the problems that system integrators must face when interconnecting different emergency networks
- SAVASA: creating a video archive search platform that allows authorised users to perform semantic queries over different, remote and non-interoperable video archives
- PERSEUS: integrating existing operational maritime surveillance systems into a European Maritime surveillance system of systems, enhancing them with innovative capabilities which can directly address key challenges
