SUMMARY

The MAPS (Management, Pricing and Services in Next Generation Networks) group conducts research into network management, planning, architecture and service engineering. Taking advantage of inter-domain synergies generated through the collaboration of its wide-ranging, expert members, the group conducts research in a variety of diverse areas, primarily:

  • Service Engineering (creation, deployment, management of context-aware ubiquitous services)
  • Management of Service-aware Networks and Supporting Resources (autonomic management systems)
  • Business and Economic Aspects of Telecommunication Services (SLAs, pricing)
  • Enabling Management Technologies (network virtualization, policy-based management, context-awareness, information and data modelling, reasoning and learning techniques)

The MAPS group is actively involved in international and national projects and has been declared as a consolidated group by the Generalitat de Catalunya
