The Information Technologies Institute (TIBITAK BTE) aims is to carry out applied research projects in the domain of information and communication technologies. BTE has conducted many projects in collaboration with public sector departments, the private sector, universities and other research institutes.

- Developing uni-modal and multi-modal biometric crypto systems that can be easily adapted to existing wide range of applications including mobile payment, smart card, e-health, access control and public safety applications
- Utilising theoretical research in the field of sensor and information technoligies to realise important applications in the fields of mine detection, search and rescue, border security, high frequency radar, underwater sensors, development platforms for embedded systems, image processing and performance evaluation
- Building an online and open platform to transparently evaluate biometric systems, designing protocols and tools for vulnerability analysis and developing standardization documents for Common Criteria evaluations
