Fallrisk

_____________________________________________________________________

SUMMARY

The FallRisk project aims to utilise leading edge ICT technology to reduce the risk seniors face of falling in their homes and to respond promptly to any such fall incidents. The project will design and develop non-stigmatizing, holistic services in view of the automated follow up of fall risk and the multi-sensor and contextual detection of fall incidents.

SOLUTIONS

  • Automating compliance checks in view of fall prevention advice given (e.g. use of walking aids,
physical exercises)
  • Linking ADL (Activities Daily Life) patterns – measured through smart technologies at home – and
changes thereof, indicating potential increased risk of falling (e.g. more toilet visits at night)
  • Creating early notifications with contextual information to support pro-active follow-up
  • Reducing the occurrence of False Positives and False Negatives through a multi-sensor approach
  • Creating easy-to-use and non-stigmatizing solutions to enhance user compliance
  • Supporting the dynamic and optimized selection of most appropriate (in)formal caregiver at the
point and time of need
  • Automating the provision of relevant contextual information when generating alarms.
