SUMMARY
The main goal of the Extension of the National R&D Information Infrastructure in Regions (eIGeR) project is the development of a national e-infrastructure for research and development within the Czech Republic which involves all integral components necessary for providing services with high added value.

SOLUTIONS
- Increasing the communication infrastructure capacity and extending its functions and characteristics using more powerful network elements
- Increasing access interface capacity
- Extending the NGI base by augmenting the MetaCentrum computing power (computing grid operated by the CESNET Association) – acquired computing capacities will be integrated into NGI
- Building three massive storage sites allowing storing and sharing large volumes of data including their mid- and long-term archiving – these storage sites will become the core of the national integrated data storage system
- Increasing capacity and augmenting infrastructure for video conference realization
