SUMMARY
Intelligent data processing is becoming more and more important in improving the quality of healthcare and enhancing health data exploitation. To this end, Knowledge Organizing Systems (KOS) such as thesauri, ontologies and taxonomies have become vital in integrating, exporting, and retrieving data as well as ensuring semantic interoperability between various systems
The main objective of the DynaMO project consists is to define a new formal framework for managing medical KOS evolution and for establishing and maintaining relations between different, heterogeneous KOSs.

SOLUTIONS
- Establishing relations (mappings) between different KOSs in order to increase domain coverage and define correlations between data annotated with the given vocabulary
- Understanding domain evolution phenomena and how they impact on KOS models and mappings
- Characterising domain evolution with respect to medical KOS specificities
- Formalising KOS evolution and mappings maintenance processes
- developing suitable tools to manage the evolution of heterogeneous KOS.
