SUMMARY
Ctrl-Green aims to improve the energy efficiency and reduce the environmental impact of autonomous management systems. Autonomous systems are self-managing infrastructures which automatically observe and react to local events.
The project aims to integrate new green metrics and control capabilities into autonomous systems in order to foster a new generation of green data centres.

SOLUTIONS
- Implementing energy managment and multiple control loops at different hardware and software levels
- Utilising new metrics developed by greeen data centres designed to improve efficiency in terms of Power Usage Efficiency (PUE), Carbon Usage Efficiency (CUE), Data Center Infrastructure Efficiency (DCIE)
- Including policies for scalability and availability in green autonomous systems
- Managing the tradeoffs between performance, availability and energy while incorporating the new metrics and capabilities of green data centers.
