SUMMARY
Seven hundred thousand Swedish citizens suffer from Chronic Respiratory Insufficiency, a lung disease which causes severe suffering for the patient and costs Swedish society: 9 Billion SEK annually.
This project seeks to develop a telemedicine solution ease the suffering of Chronic Respiratory Insufficiency patients and improve the quality and cost-efficiency of their healthcare. The project team will design an oxygen treatment for patients at home. Specifically, the team will produce ICT based measurements of vital health metrics, remote control of the necessary equipment and video communication between the patient and the health professional. A consortium of research and medical partners will have input on the project work at every step from conception to execution.
