SUMMARY
AMazING (Advanced Mobile wIreless Network playGround) is an outdoor test system which seeks to achieve market differentiation through providing increased direct control for the user and high reproducibility of tests conditions and results, even for mobile events.
The project provides a free access wireless testbed, composed by 24 fixed nodes located at the rooftop of Instituto de Telecomunicações – Aveiro. The project team has constructed a testbed management system built on top of a customized version of OMF that automates tedious but necessary tasks. The aim is to push Portuguese ICT research and development to the leading edge through the provision of facilities which allow wireless studies to be conducted under more realistic, but still controllable conditions.
