Projects & Initiatives

_________

Context-Aware Semantic Multimedia Services for Mobile Communities

The project focuses on developing mobile multimedia services with aspects of multimedia semantics and context awareness.

_________

eConnect

The goal of “econnect Germany” is to develop sustainable and intelligent electro-mobile traffic applications integrate electric vehicles into the smart grid of the future.

_________

Integrated Planning of Multi-layer Telecommunication Networks

The goal of the Integrated Planning of Multi-layer Telecommunication Networks project is to develop mathematical models and algorithms for the joint planning of multiple sub-networks/layers.

_________

MIMODeS

This project focuses its research on hardware-reliability in wireless communication systems. The team follow a cross-layer approach which exploits the mutual trade-offs of system performance, hardware reliability, and implementation complexity. Wireless systems are especially suited for this approach because they have an inherent algorithmic error resilience.

_________

ÖkoNet

The goal of the OkoNet project is to find solutions to unpredictable problems and conflicts of interest between network and service providers.

_________

Performance of Large-Scale, Ad Hoc Networks and Cognitive Wireless Systems

This project will study different mathematical modelling methods for such capacity and performance analysis.

_________

PreFairAppl

The main focus of the project is the development of “fair” applications which preserve the privacy of the users.

_________

ProHaptics

In this project research is done into the communication of haptic information in networked telemanipulation systems. The project team put a special focus on perceptual coding of haptic data streams and address this issue by exploiting the limitations of human haptic perception. The researchers also consider in our work error-resilient communication of haptic information in the presence of packet loss and communication delay.

_________

SAMURAI

The SAMURAI (Sensor Array Processing for Multipath and Radio Interference Identification and Suppression ) project team will carry out further investigations and try to develop a highly accurate and highly reliable time-delay estimation for the received of signals in GPS systems.

_________

THESEUS – New Technologies for the Internet of Services

Under the THESEUS umbrella, some 60 research partners from academia and the business world have come together to develop new technologies and applications. which will facilitate access to information,  combine data to form new kinds of knowledge and lay the groundwork for new services on the Internet.
