The 4TELL Research Group is focused on designing innovative solutions to enhance the ubiquity, convergence, optimisation and security of the communication networks of the future.

The group’s mission is to contribute to the development of a real IP multimedia world of services through researching the next generation of ubiquitous and converged network and service infrastructures for communication, computing and media. This entails addressing the evolution from today’s large legacy infrastructures towards the new infrastructures by striking a balance between backward compatibility requirements and the need to explore disruptive architectures to build the future internet, mobile, broadband, broadcasting and associated service infrastructures.

The group is currently involved in European-wide collaboration on 9 different FP7 projects.
