2013 – New FI Award Competition Announced

The Call for the Fifth Future Internet Award is Now Open!
Applications are now being accepted for the fifth FI Award. The details of the award are given below. The winner will be announced at the end of the 10th Future Internet Assembly to be held in Dublin in May 8-10.
The winning FI initiative will be able to use the award for promotional purposes. The award will be a crystal glass vase with the inscription Future Internet Award 2013 and the location where the presentation was made.

The Waterford Crystal vase will presented to the winner of this award at the Dublin FIA in May

The Future Internet Award will recognise excellence in innovation translating research to economic impact, i.e., real exploitation, including from start-ups, building upon results from Future Internet projects that deliver systems or solutions that are commercially used/deployed.

The winning entry will be announced at the closing ceremony of the Future Internet Assembly Dublin, May 10. This ceremony is attended by renowned industry and academic experts, high-level members of the European Commission, and members of the local and international press.
Travel and related costs to attend the ceremony will be at the charge of the winning entry representatives.

Proposals to be submitted by March 31.

ceFIMS Workshop Sep 27 Warsaw

The latest ceFIMS workshop took place on September 27th in Warsaw.

The agenda for the ceFIMS workshop was

1. Plan for the desired future direction of the FIF meetings by the FIF members.
2. Plan for future support of the FIF meetings by the ceFIMS project.
3. Planning for FIF support post-ceFIMS (March 2013).
4. Planning for the implementation of decisions made in the FIF meeting (for example if agreement is reached on the nature of the Ambassador role, its implementation can be discussed here).
5. Plan for initiatives of common interest. We can discuss topics in the area of IoT, Cloud and Smart Cities (and others if proposed).

FIF Meeting Scheduled for Warsaw Sep 26-27.

The FIF meeting took place in Warsaw Sep 26-27th to coincide with the ICT Proposers’ Day.

The agenda for the FIF meeting was sent out by the Commission. Meeting Minutes will be posted here shortly.

September Edition of the ceFIMS Newsletter Published

The newsletter is available online and a PDF version can also be downloaded.

The publication contains:

Updates on projects such as FuturICT, earth, StratAG, PISCES;
Information on the recent IPv6 COnference in Hungary;
