12th FIF meeting held on 21 October, 2014 in Berlin, Germany

The 12th Future Internet Forum (FIF) of Member States / Association Countries (MS/AC) meeting was held on 21st October, 2014 in Berlin, co-located with the 5G Global Conference organized by project Mobile and wireless communications Enablers for the Twenty-twenty Information Society (METIS).

The main objectives of the meeting included:

  • Status report on 5G-PPP, including next steps and inter-relations with FIF;
  • Reflection on 5G initiatives in MS/AC and via the 5G Global conference to learn about the results of METIS and others in the morning;
  • Presentations from¬† MS/AC initiatives from Ireland, Belgium and others related to pre-cursor testbeds and technical elements of 5G;
  • Focus on FIWARE accelerator program;
  • Experiences of a Berlin based FIWARE accelerator, European Pioneers, from the creative and dynamic industries;
  • Progress report from ceFIMS-CONNECT and
  • A call for information gathering from the MS/AC.

As usual, the meeting was a mixture of presentations, lively discussions and brainstorming.
